Briefing ops with evidence, not dashboards

Business meeting with charts on a laptop

Operations leads rarely need another tour of filters. They need a decision request backed by enough evidence to act. We teach a one-page format that analytics teams can fill in under fifteen minutes once the data model is clean.

The four blocks

What changed — one sentence naming the lane, SKU family, or partner and the delta versus plan or prior week.

Evidence — two or three facts with timestamps and source class (confirmed vs estimated). Link to the extract; do not paste twenty charts.

Interpretation — which delay source from the latency playbook fits best, and what remains unknown.

Ask — the specific action, owner, and deadline. If there is no ask, the briefing is a status note and should be labelled as such.

Why this matters for visibility programmes

Visibility investments stall when leaders stop trusting the narrative. Practising this format weekly builds the muscle that makes signal maps and KPI sheets consequential rather than decorative.
